The importance of praying in congregation

Abu Hurairah. It is narrated that he said, “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The most difficult and heavy prayer for the hypocrites is the Isha and Fajr prayers. What good and reward are in it, if they only knew about it, they would have participated in it, even if it was by crawling. Sometimes my wish arises that I give the order to perform the prayer, and it is established, then I give the order to one person, he will perform the prayer with the person; I will go out with a group of people, who will have a load of wood. We will find people who did not attend the prayer. We will burn down their houses with them. “ [Sahih Bukhari: 656, Sahih Muslim: 6]

Discussion on the word used in the hadith

أثْقَلَ صَلَاةٍ: أثقل: The word emitted from the weight. Adjective Meaning: Heavy, difficult.

عَلَى المُنَافِقِينَ: Hiding the basic meaning of hypocrisy in the dictionary, Dhaka. The reason for naming it is that even if he preaches faith openly, there is secret disbelief and disbelief behind his heart. The purpose here is by the hypocrites who openly preach Islam as their religion and keep in mind disbelief and disbelief.

That is if they were aware of the virtue and abundance of these two prayers.

That is, he used to attend two prayers. They used to come to the mosque and participate in prayers with the congregation.

That is, if there was an obstacle in the way of walking, they would crawl on their chests. Allama Nawabi Rah. He said that if they had been aware of the virtue of both these prayers and the reward of the Hereafter, and for some reason, we’re unable to attend without crawling, they would have crawled and would not have tolerated leaving the congregation.

means conviction, strong will. Some say it means expressing a lower level of will than strong will.

The importance of praying in congregation  and its  benefits

The hadith is the basic proof that the obligatory prayers must be performed in the mosque. Because of the Prophet. In that hadith, he mentions the punishment of fire for breaking the prayer in congregation without an excuse according to the Shari’ah. The other instructions and documents of the Qur’an-Hadith which further strengthen the subject are mentioned below. Abu Hurairah. It is narrated that he said, “ Once a blind Companion Abdullah bin Maktum came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him ). He said, O Messenger of Allah! There was no one to bring me to the mosque, so he asked the Prophet for permission to pray at home. The Prophet gave him permission. When he came out, he called him and said, “Do you hear the call to prayer?” He replied, Yes. He said, “But respond to the call to prayer.” “ [Muslim-1044]

Narrated Abdullah bin Masood: He said, ” Except for the hypocrite whom I have seen, no one would refrain from praying in congregation, whose hypocrisy is known to all, or who is ill, even a person who is very ill.” “ [Muslim-1045]

Praying in the congregation has great virtues and innumerable rewards. In this connection, it has been narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “ Praying in congregation brings twenty-five times more thawab than praying alone in the house or in the market. Because when he performs ablution properly and goes out only for the purpose of the mosque, his door (dignity) is raised one by one at every step, and washing is a sin one by one. As long as he stays at the place of prayer at the end of the prayer, the angels continue to pray for mercy for him — Allah, have mercy on him; May Allah blesses him. It is better to be a part of the prayer than your prayer. “ [Sahih Muslim-611]

There are many rewards and virtues for performing Esha and Fajr prayers in the mosque. The Prophet. Regarding the importance of the subject and the description of its great reward in the hereafter, he said that the person who will be aware of its virtues, even if he crawls like a child, will try to participate in it. A different hadith which proves the virtue and importance of performing Esha and Fajr prayers in congregation, which was narrated by Uthman bin Affan. To be described. He said, “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘He who prays’ Isha ‘with the congregation should spend half the night in worship.’ And the one who prays the Fajr prayer with the congregation should pray the whole night. “ [Sahih Muslim: 656]

Jundub bin Abdullah in the context of the description of the reward of the Fajr prayer performer. It is narrated that he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him ) said, “ Whoever performs the Fajr prayer is in the care of Allaah. May Allah not ask you for anything in His care. Because, He seizes from whom He calls in this matter, then throws him on the fire of Hell. “ [Muslim – 261, Tirmidhi – 3946]

It is helpful for a person to perform the Fajr prayer with the congregation:

  • A firm conviction about waking up in the morning to perform the prayer.
  • Always pray to Allah for help in this matter.
  • Go to bed early in the first part of the night, so that the body is happy and fresh.
  • Regular recitation of waking prayers from sleep and wakefulness.
  • Other helpful ways. For example, taking the help of alarms, etc., so that you can wake up at the right time.
  • A person who refuses to perform the Esha and Fajr prayers in the congregation without any legitimate reason puts himself in the face of terrible danger and sin. The group is hypocrites. The Prophet about the two prayer abandoners. He was extremely angry | He wanted to burn down their houses.
  • Hypocrisy is the cause of very bad temper and terrible character danger. There is no person or group whom Allah has not destroyed even after being afflicted with this evil. Allaah says in the Holy Qur’an: “ Surely the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of Hell. Surah An-Nisa ‘: verse 145 ]

What are the faults of the hypocrites? The following will shed some light on that: –

  • Even if Kufr is given a place in the heart, openly identifying oneself as a Muslim
  • Worship seems to be a heavy burden, especially in the case of Esha and Fajr prayers. Because, at this time, Satan constantly gives the advice to get rid of it. Apart from that, Esha is a time of peace and rest, the taste of sleep during Fajr is incomparable.
  • The hypocrites perform any of their religious acts for the purpose of gaining praise and publicity. What they think is good is what they crave to express in public. They appear at public gatherings, displaying themselves in front of everyone. When no one sees, the possibility of receiving the slightest praise disappears — then they disappear.
  • They are greedy for worldly gain, even though it is through worship.

This is one of the basic principles of the Shari’ah. The Prophet. He did not burn them only because it would affect helpless women and children who are not covered by this command. Islam: Undoubtedly, it is a complete basic system for Muslims, which Muslims will live by embracing and nurturing in every aspect of life. At the very beginning of this system, the position is worship, through which the servant is able to feel the absolute taste of the closeness of Mawla. One of the parts of this method is to perform the day and night prayers at the right time, in a regular manner with the congregation. Do not dare to reject the Shariah without any reason.
