The Power of Tongue In Islam

The Power of Tongue In Islam.

The tongue is one of the mysteries of Allah great creation. We usually think of the tongue like a piece of meat, but the tongue is a piece of boneless meat but it has indomitable power. Not only does the power of the tongue rest on the present, but the tongue can apply power equally in the present, future, and past. What is happening now, what has happened in the past, and what will happen in the future, can all be equally pronounced by the tongue.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The greatest struggle [Jihād] is a word of truth2 in front of a tyrant ruler.” [An-Nasā’ī]

On the other hand, only the present object can be seen with the eye. Only currently spoken words can be heard with the ear.
The tongue is the representative of the intellect and the boundaries of the intellect are well-defined.

Allah says “And they attribute to Allah that which they dislike, and their tongues assert the lie that they will have the best [from Him]. Assuredly, they will have the Fire, and they will be [therein] neglected. (16:62)

In the same way, the tongue is able to describe what comes to the intellect and what the intellect confirms by thinking and imagining. There is no such power of the senses other than the tongue, for the eye has no right over anything other than size and color. The ear has no right over anything other than sound.

In the same way, every part of the body applies energy to a subject. And just as the mind has power over all the kingdoms of the body, so does the tongue have power over the mind. The tongue can work equally well with the mind. What the mind collects or takes in the form of pictures, the tongue helps the mind by expressing it in language.

The effect of the tongue on the mind

On the one hand, just as the tongue expresses language by collecting pictures or thoughts from the mind, so the mind can draw pictures or thoughts from the expression of the tongue and draw them in its own mind. That is why the mind can create a new feeling by inserting what the tongue expresses into the heart. For example, when crying or reading something, the tongue expresses, and the mind grabs it. Again, when a person feels joy, his mind is full of joy and his tongue also gives in to it.
In this way, a similar feeling arises in the mind of the person as he speaks. And that is why when you say or hear obscene words or sentences, the mind becomes dark. As a result, no good words find a place in the heart. Again the mind becomes beautiful and pure by uttering good and good words of the tongue.

Tongue protection is essential

Tongue protection is a very important issue. The tongue is the root of all evil. It is obligatory to guard the tongue to avoid such evils. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Whoever is responsible for the movement between the two limbs and between the two jaws, that is, the place of shame and the tongue, I will be responsible for admitting him to Paradise. “

The sin we commit by the tongue

  • People are guilty of lying by the tongue.
People commit sins by gossiping, slandering, and gossiping with their tongues.
  • It is a sin to insult or quarrel with someone with the tongue.
  • That is why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Whoever remains silent, he is released.” He added, “Whoever is protected by Allah from the harm of the stomach, the genitals, and the tongue is saved from all dangers.”

Hazrat Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) one day, which work is the best? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took his tongue out of his mouth and pressed it with his fingers. That is to say, the best and most important thing to do is to protect the jawan.

Hadrat ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I once saw Hadrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) pulling and rubbing his tongue with his hand. I asked him, O Messenger of Allah! Are you doing the same? “This boneless little limb is putting a lot of responsibility on me,” he said. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “The tongue is the root of most human sins.”
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) once addressed the assembled people and said, “I am teaching you the simplest form of worship. That is the nature of silence and honesty. ” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said elsewhere, “Whoever believes in Allaah and the Last Day should speak kindly or remain silent.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “He who speaks too much is more wrong. And for the one who becomes a great sinner, the fire of hell is suitable. It also misleads and misleads others with their tongue. Sin is committed by the tongue in many different ways. It is very important to protect the tongue by staying away from these. At the same time, the tongue is the remembrance of God,
