True Believer According to Quran is someone who believes in the book of Allah and believes in Allah. According to the Islamic point of view, a true Muslim is known to be a Mumin. Both Mumin and Muslim are somehow likely terms but a little bit different like Muslim is a person who embraces Islam by saying Kalima Tayyaba and with a devoted belief that Allah is One, There’s no God except Him and Prophet Mohammed (SAW) is His last Messenger but Mumin is the one in which this knowledge of faith invade deeply into his mind, heart and soul.
“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord, they rely. The ones who establish prayer, and from what We have provided them, they spend. Those are the believers, truly. For them are degrees (of high position) with their Lord and forgiveness and noble provision.” (Quran, 8:2-4)
Quality of true Believer in Islam.
- Believe in one almighty Allah: True believer is someone who declares the shadah(There is no god but Allah and Muhammad(PBUH) is the last messenger) of Allah, which is one of the main pillars of Islam. We have seen many people believe in Allah, yet when trouble comes to them they start to complain and turn to someone else for help. This is, in fact, Shirk that people mostly used to do. Allah says in the Quran “Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.(Quran 3:18)
- Remembrance and fear of Allah: A true believer is some who fear Allah at all times and remember Allah in his all matter. A true believer fears Allah no matter what action he performing. a believer always remembers Allah(SWT) by zikir, performing salaah, etc.. Allah says in the Quran “O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah.” (Quran 3:102) And its also mentioned in the hadith of Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) ” “Whoever sits and does not mention the Name of Allah (before he rises) will find it a cause of sorrow for Allah. Whoever lies down to sleep and does not mention the name of Allah before rising, will find it a cause of sorrow from Allah” (Abu Dawud). “
- Giving Charity: A believer Always looks give out for good cause whenever he/she can. In the Quran, charity is often mentioned along with prayer, as one of the factors that identify true believers. In addition, the Quran frequently uses the words “regular charity,” so the charity is best as an ongoing and consistent activity, not just a one-off here and there for a special cause. Charity should be part of the very fiber of your personality as a Muslim. Allah says in the Quran” Be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity. Whatever good you send forth for your souls before you, you shall find it with Allah. For Allah sees well all that you do” (2:110) .
- Guard against His forbidden: The believer tries as much as he can to stay away from what is unlawful as enjoined by God. No matter how difficult or confusing it may seem, he’d rather avoid it owing to doubts. This was well stated by the Messenger of God in the collections of Imam Bukhari: “verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of Allah is his prohibitions.”
Note: I just mention a few in this article, there are so many verses about who is a true believer. May Allah guide to the right path and forgive our all sin.
